It’s back-to-school season for military children. Everywhere crayons, glue sticks, pencils, and scissors fly off the shelves as parents rush to check off the never ending school supplies lists. But one item that can easily be overlooked in the business of everything else is something that is very important to a child’s day and lasts throughout the entire year: Lunch.
Any time away from a loved one is difficult, especially when you are stressed and have a million things to do. If it isn't one thing, it's another and military life sure does know how to pile it up on you to the point where we feel like enough is enough!
So what can we do when all we want is that momentary distraction from it all?
When businesses hire military veterans, the workforce gains invaluable skills because of military training. As a veteran transitioning out of the military, you may have doubts about the type of jobs out there and whether or not you may qualify for it. Employers take on the job training such as military experience, but if you are looking in another field you have no experience in - there are options for you to obtain the training in that field in as little as 60 days and use your GI bill and tuition assistance in the process.
It's that time of year! Back to school for the kids which means one thing, shopping!
Kids are receiving their school lists around this time and it seems like the older they get, the longer and more expensive the list. This is the perfect time to go shopping as stores are clearing out there seasonal merchandise. Dollar stores and other discounters are a great source for school supplies.
It's not every day that we use the word "Nachos" in the same sentence as "Military Wives"...
I guess the only time I would say was our last deployment and I ran to the store for everything I would need in order to make authentic nachos....
But all jokes aside, the below is a TRUE and funny story about military wives and one of our most favorite foods of all time, nachos!
I bet many people don't think that the history of nachos has anything to do with the military, right? Wrong!
