Over the next few months, we want to shine a spotlight on all the hard working staff behind Ed4Career. First up, is our Marketing Manager, Angela Caban.
Angela has been with Ed4Career for just over a year. She currently oversees content strategy and creation for Ed4Career, everything that has to do with our websites, newsletters and campaigns. If you’re seeing something from us, Angela has worked on it. She is also an instructor for several Personal Enrichment courses offered by Ed4Career. She can easily relate to the students we cater to because she’s been one herself…earning her Bachelor's and Master’s Degree in Human Resources completely online.
Outside of the office, Angela is just as busy. She and her husband have been married for ten years and are raising two small children. Angela’s husband serves with the Army National Guard and was deployed in 2008. She has a dedication to the military community that runs deep, which is why she is so passionate about Military Career Education. She founded a website, Homefront United Network in 2010 to offer support, resources, and bring awareness to the spouses and families of Reserve and National Guard components. She advises all military families to remember they have “an identity outside of the military.” In 2013, she was named the New Jersey National Guard Spouse of the Year by Military Spouse Magazine, and as if that isn’t enough, Angela is also a published author.
On her downtime, Angela tells me her favorite things to do are cook, read, and write but spending time with her family is her number one priority. Angela also has a new goal for the year…she’s teaching herself how to play the violin and hopes to be able to serenade her husband in time for the holiday season. When I asked her if she had any tips for people going back to school she said, “Going back to school is a tough choice. Don’t let the chaos of everyday life throw you off task, stay focused and always remember the end goal you want to accomplish.”
Her favorite quote is from Abraham Lincoln: “Whatever you are, be a good one.” Practical advice for any undertaking.
