My Career Advancement Account Scholarship Program (MyCAA) – Spouses of active-duty service members, National Guard and reserve members in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2 and O-1 to O-2 may be eligible to get a license, certification or an Associates Degree, with up to a $4,000 grant! These programs cover your books and the materials you need to complete the program you choose. Take advantage before your soldier leaves active duty because you have to utilize the grant while he/she is serving.

Military Spouse Preference Program – Military spouse unemployment is at a constant high rate. With this program, military spouses searching for a job are given preferred employment placement. The Department of Defense has vacant civilian job listings for spouses who are given top priority.

Military Spouse Employment Partnership - MSEP is part of DoD's Spouse Education and Career Opportunities, or SECO, initiative, which seeks to strengthen the education and career opportunities of military spouses by providing:

  • Career exploration opportunities to help them understand their skills, interests, and goals
  • Education and training to help them identify academic, licensing, or credentialing requirements that can help them reach their career goals
  • Employment readiness assistance to optimize their self-marketing skills
  • Employment connections that help them find and maintain a rewarding career

Military OneSource offers practical information and resources for service members and military spouses interested in pursuing education goals and achieving career aspirations

Free financial education and resources for financial planning and counselors are given through the DoD’s MilSpouse Money Mission.

Military Spouse Scholarships- there are many different types of scholarships made available including Federal and state, military branch specific, non-profits and milspouse club scholarships.

And don’t forget the free classes offered on base with resources to help with PCSing, deployments, having a new child, etc.
