Does thinking about the cost of college make your heart race? If so, you’re not alone. College costs are skyrocketing and include not only tuition and fees, but room and board, books and supplies, personal expenses, and transportation. Those costs can quickly add up!
Unfortunately, all these expenses put college out of reach for many. Equally upsetting is the fact that many college students experience homelessness or food insecurity. According to a recent CSU study, about 11% of students in the California State University system experience homelessness and another 41% of students experience some degree of food insecurity.
At Ed4Credit, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to have an education and we are doing our part to make it more affordable and attainable for students everywhere.
Let’s crunch the numbers. The average cost of one credit at most colleges is $350. Multiply that by 3 credit hours and you’ve got $1050. Add in textbook costs (let’s say $170/course) and all of a sudden, you are paying more than $1200 per course. And that is not taking into account the added expenses of room, board, transportation, etc.
Now, let’s take a step back. The first two years of college involve a lot of GenEd courses. These are courses that every student must take, regardless of their intended major. Ed4Credit has made it our mission to offer these courses at a substantial savings for students.
Ed4Credit courses are only $195 (except for science labs). Not only is our pricing much lower than most colleges, there are no additional fees. eTextbooks are included at no extra cost in Ed4Credit courses and are available on any computer, tablet or phone. eTextbooks allow you to highlight, bookmark or make notes in sections of interest – much like an actual textbook, but without the cost.
Another benefit is there is no need to wait until a new semester starts. With Ed4Credit you can start anytime you are ready, and you have 4 months (120 days) to complete your course.
Ed4Credit is proud to be a part of the American Council on Education (ACE). All our courses are recommended for credit by the American Council on Education’s Alternative Credit Project™ or their College Credit Recommendation Service (CREDIT®). This highly regarded recommendation means that your Ed4Credit classes will be considered for credit at over 2,000 colleges and universities across the United States. If you don’t see the school that you want to transfer to, all you need to do is call the university and ask a guidance counselor. In most cases, they can help you transfer those credits.
Upon completion of your Ed4Credit courses simply create an account with the American Council on Education (ACE). Once you’ve created your account select the courses you’ve completed and choose the appropriate educational institution next ACE will send them your transcript. It’s that easy!
Ed4Credit’s low-cost, self-paced online courses make obtaining your education quick and affordable. Because everyone deserves to have an education and no student should ever have to choose between textbooks or their next meal.
